We're back after a few days of radio silence. We arrived in Los Angeles safe and sound on Saturday afternoon and have been busy ever since. We just regained internet capabilities yesterday after some fun times with Verizon customer service.
We'll do our best to catch you up quickly.
We kicked off our day in Las Vegas with breakfast at our hotel and then hopped the free shuttle to the Mandalay Bay.
On our way through the first casino , Filip stopped to strike a pose with a random knight. We decided we wanted to try and see the Beatles: Love by Cirque De Soliel that night. Unfortunately the show plays at the Mirage on the North End and we were at the South end of the strip that morning. So we started up the Strip passing through The Luxor, The Excalibur, New York, New York, The Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, and finally to the Mirage. The sad part is that when we arrived at the Mirage, the show was sold out for the night except for the super expensive $150 tickets. We decided that it was a bit too steep a price to pay.
So off we went to a buffet lunch which was pretty decent.
Then we opted to treat ourselves, which ended being a mixed bag. Danielle got a pedicure at the Imperial for $80, which was... well, like the Imperial a bit trashy and under-whelming. But her toes looked mighty fine in the $20 flip flops from Scoop NYC. Filip ended up getting professional shave at Caesar's Palace at Truefit and Hill. His Sicilian barber did an awesome job getting rid of the road beard, except he ended up giving him uneven sideburns?!
We ended up going to the MGM Grand and New York, New York and gambled some. Danielle hit the video poker and slot machines, while Filip sat briefly at the Poker Room. We can't say either of us did particularly well, but we had fun. We had dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Bistro at the MGM which was fun and tasty. And then we played video poker together. In the end, we didn't win big or lose big and a good time was had by us both.
The night capped with us waiting for the shuttle back to the Marriott and worrying we might have missed it. After several phone calls back to the hotel and Filip feeling quite silly and dumb with the desk receptionist, we got back and hit the sack:)
