Day Five - Hangin' in Denver

Wednesday morning we got up and went into Denver with Filip's sister Anna. The Mile High City is pretty from afar. Some of the cool things in Denver include the Art Museum and the US Mint.

We decided to go down to "LoDo" (Lower Downtown for you out-of-towners), which is a revitatlized area of shops, bars, and restaurants. But first we hit up a Denver institution - "Dozens" - for breakfast. The portions were big and hearty filled with eggs, potatoes, and other lumberjack goodness. Plus a delicious cinnamon roll.
Then we walked around LoDo for a while including Writer's Square. We also walked up and down the 16th Street Mall. Unfortunately the 30 degree weather kept the knockoff Coach and D&G vendors inside, so Danielle didn't get to buy a new purse.

We did grab a super good Peanut Butter Bomb Candy Apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It seems like most of our travels are about food, doesn't it?

We swung by the historic Brown Palace Hotel and attempted to get appointments at the Spa there, but they were all booked up. But we did see people having high tea there.

There was a pretty Methodist church nearby.

We checked out Anna's place of employment, the Denver Athletic Club briefly. It's a huge, exclusive complex and we're really proud of Anna's work there.

We recovered a little bit from traveling back at the hotel before heading out to dinner at Sushi Den in Washington Park. The sushi was really good including some unusual offerings like a Kobe Beef roll and a Jonah Crab hand roll. Plus Filip got a 2-for-1 special on warm sake. We capped off the night with ice cream (which we realize seems odd in freezing weather, but we love ice cream). Anna took us to an ice cream parlor where they make home made ice cream and gelato from scratch every day. We tried a bunch of samples in order to make an "educated" decision. We're lucky it wa a slow night and the guy working the store was patient with us.

All and all a great day:)
And don't forget to check out the full photo album for all of our photos!
